Ways
we Advocate
In addition to providing education, advocacy and support
to families, the PEERS Project Advocates are becoming
involved
in planning activities with the
Ohio Department
of Mental Health.
PEERS
Project Advocates are working with Legislators
and Policy makers to advocate for change within the
mental health system.
The PEERS
Project hopes to help squash out stigma
that our children face by reaching out to the community.
We go to a variety of health fairs and other places
where we have the opportunity to hand out information
on mental and emotional, behavioral and developmental
health issues.
What is the PEERS
Project?
The PEERS Project began with a small group of parents who adopted a spiritual
concept that in order to help themselves they must first help others.
How can PEERS
Project help?
It became evident that parents who have children with emotional or mental health
issues often times need assistance. Sometimes parents feel overwhelmed and
simply need to share this with another who truly understands. When you need
somebody to talk with, we are here.
