free home visit by a registered nurse is offered
to all first time and teen parents in Summit County.
This visit gives parents a chance to have their questions
answered, have their baby weighed, and check the
baby's and mother's health. The nurse offers a listening
ear and helpful information during this wonderful,
exciting, confusing and challenging time.

Newborn
Home Visits
that are offered through Help Me Grow are free and completed
by a registered nurse to all first time and teen parents
living in Summit County. At the hospital, you may
give permission for a home visit by a registered nurse. Shortly
after you leave the hospital, the nurse will call to
schedule a visit.
The
Home Visit Includes:
- Weighing
the baby
- Checking
the baby's and the mother's health
- Answering
questions about newborn care
- Offering
helpful tips about feeding, baby growth, and creating
a healthy and safe environment for the baby.
- Linking
your family to community resources
- Promoting
literacy

ARE THE BENEFITS OF A NEWBORN HOME VISIT?

Newborn Home Visit is a great way for parents to have
their questions answered in the comfort of their own
home. A visit from the nurse can help ease
the transition
and link you to valuable resources, while supporting
today's parents.
Every
child is different and unique, but there are general
